Blog #5: Changes to my study programme

 Hello everyone today I'm going to talk about of the changes to my study programme

Well, I'll start by telling you that from the start I study chemistry and pharmacy, in the first semester of my career you will find a lot of chemistry and mathematics, a lot of basic sciences. When I got 3° year of my career you will find a lot of pharmacology semesters.

My teachers have very different teaching methods and assess your knowledge in different ways.

My faculty is small, but in my opinion, it is cozy and cute. We have enough laboratory equipment to emerge as good scientific professionals. Seriously it's amazing as we have so many labs of so many kinds.

My career ends in about 5.5 years. Most likely I will finish my race in 7 haha.

Blog Post #4: Travel to the past.

 Hi everyone, I'd like to tell you some memories I have of childhood.

I remember that I loved to play with ants, with my little brother. He and I playing go out with a magnifying glass, a bucket of water, a spoon and a cube of sugar. We dug up the earth and created a path of water to a rock. Under that rock there were lots of ants and we put sugar under that rock. The ants liked it because they made their nests under that rock.

Sometimes we used the magnifying glass to burn them, just to arouse my curiosity, but trying to not kill them, because they were our pets.

Today I would love to play with ants and give them sugar cubes for they are ready for winter.

Blog Post #2: The best holiday

Hi everyone! I've never been in a concert, so I'd like to write you about my best holidays of my life.

When summers comes arround, my family and I always visit the countryside of my grandmather. The people who live in there is so different between city people. The country and the forest are awesome and amazing, 

I love feeling that when I visit the countryside I disconnect from reality.I liked interacting with animals. My grandmother had horses, cows, sheep, pigs, chicks, geese, among others. My favorite animal is the horse and I remember that I loved riding a horse and feeling that sensation that you are "galloping" and jumping over the green grass.

Also, the Cordillera de los Andes is very close of my grandmather's countryside, the climate is very versatile... Sometimes rain, sometimes the sun shines a lot, and rarely you could finding with snow, yes! snow in summer! It is seriously very beautiful to do any outdoor activity. I remember that I loved to have fun swimming in the river and see many little fish and other animals under the river.

Blog Post #1: A country you would like to visit

Hi everyone!

My name is Matías Jaque, student of Chemistry and Pharmacy of 3° year.

I would like to visit Indonesia, a country ubicated in the continent of Asia, its made up for more than 17500 islands. I'd like to visit this country because I'm interested of its geological structures, I love the nature and there are a lot of mountains to climb and active volcanos. I know there is much people that say Indonesia has a world of beauty and diversity. I'm so surprised, because I discovered that there are many beaches where you can surf and dive. I always wanted to practice dive under the water... Maybe in a river or the ocean... I don't know, its a dream that I wish to realize. Also Indonesia have the second tropical forest mostest big in the planet. so I'd like to do all I mentioned previously in this country.

I'm not sure if I would like to study and live there, I don't know how this country manages this topics and how its works the country system. And about the work... I'm not very sure, because I think the pharmaceutical legislation between Chile and Indonesia could be different. But... yes, I'd like to work there and every other country.

A threat in front you...

Hi everyone! I really hope you are taking a relaxing week.

Well, I really like to study when I am interested in a subject, such as university courses, however, there are some non-university subjects that I loved to study, because they helped me understand the world in a different way.

This is the case of  Climate Change, Its a subject that I always have been interested and enjoyed, since I was a little student, that I always said we need to take care our earth, until today. Learning more about this helped me to open my eyes, that climate change is indeed a fact and is happening today, affecting to our home. All the territories with vegetation and fauna, many lives present here, are being violated for the disastrous consequences of water droughts, forest fires, wind storms, changes in the sea... All this life above earth is gonna disapear soon, even the life under the earth, the animals of the sea: fish, mollusks, whales, dolphins, coral reefs... Also, the glaciers will begin to melt and it will affect the penguins. 

And much things that I'd like that you can motivate yourself and reading about this.

Before I studied it, its seems to the people don't care this subject.

Is incredible the lack of interest for something that thearen to everyone in this world and future generations too. For this reason We must participate, get informed to inform the people, and act from the territories. 

Today Chile has a historic opportunity to write in this constituent process that stop the abuses, because the people are not responsible, The authorities are responsible because they put economic power over the people, exposing the territories and practicing extractivism.

I'd like to write more about this subject but I'm done with the words hahaha.

Do I admire someone?

Hi everyone! I hope you are fine. On this moment I'm trying to think of someone I admire but I don't really have references. However I have considered my pre-universitary physics teacher. She was able to make me understand the relevance of sciences, with her I was able to watch the scientific content in a funny way. Also, this teacher makes me learn basic sciences like physics, chemical, and maths. Taking this base I caught myself in the world of curiosity, everything was magnific and in that moment I wanted to discover all of the misterys arround this wolrd, but not only earth misterys, I'm talking about everything, even outer space, "the universe".

It should be noted that I don't really admire someone, but this teacher is currently living in Spain, she currently doesn't teaching physics and I'm so grateful with her.

Until this day I haven't people to admire and I think that although Its great to admire someone from our scientific area, admiring yourself is the best you can have.

Chemistry and Pharmacy and a better world for People, from health

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to tell you about how can your mayor make the world a better place? In my case, from my career Chemistry and Pharmacy.

In the future I would like to interact with other people and with patients and promote the rational use of medicines, also discovering and manufacturing new medicines to improve public health problems that threaten the population.

I would like to be a responsible health professional with a gender perspective, with a class conscience and an ecological perspective, because we live in a world that is totally diverse. Understanding that currently the health in Chile is not the same for everyone and We as professionals must change. The health must be promoted with respect and it must be inclusive for all people, and also, considering that we live in a world where climate change threatens us, so the pharmaceutical industries must mitigate pollution.

The role of the pharmaceutical chemist is very important, because this professional is the specialist in medicines, without this professional there would be no technological advances in medicines, a world where there would be no pharmacological therapies for human pathologies. There would be no treatments with drugs. medicines or cures for diseases. Medicines can help the well-being and health of the population.
